Before I deliver my speech, the answer is YES.
Someone rightly said and I quote “The question could just as well be “Does my company need to be at the world’s biggest cocktail party filled with prospects?” I think the response for every company would be a resounding “Yes,” with the right salesperson in place and a strategy to come away from the party with more than a good buzz.”
Whatever line of business you are into, and whatever your designation is, one thing for sure is, that business sells to prospects and depends on volume of people, whether at the top-tier or any tier for that matter. The next question would be as a key-decision maker of that business (except you are not and you do not care about the growth of the company or business), do you go where they are?
Facebook and Twitter are the big cocktail, filled with your prospect. Drive your salesman there to talk to them and engage them.
I remember about a year ago when I signed out of facebook saying “Its not adding any value to me”. Not long, I found myself reactivating my account because I found out that, if I want to really drive sales virally, then I have to put it all up in my prospects’ faces at no extra cost. So why not?
Companies today use both facebook and twitter to:
- Increase Sales and Marketing
- Enforcing their brand
- Reach fans
- Spread information
- Cut cost on media
So they question is why shouldn’t you.
